The Palmer Lake Historical Society presents:
“Poker Alice Tubbs: The Straight Story”
A presentation by Liz Duckworth
On Thursday, February 21, at 7:00 p.m., you will hear the story of an adventurous lady gambler in the Wild West. Poker Alice Tubbs will come alive through Liz Duckworth’s performance as the cigar-smoking “woman in a man’s world.” Learn about Poker Alice’s adventures in mining boomtowns in Colorado, New Mexico, and South Dakota. Liz Duckworth notes that while a lot of the tales “ain’t entirely true,” the real story is even better than the myths.
Liz Duckworth lives in Colorado Springs and is a freelance copywriter and editor as well as the author of several books. She has performed multiple times as Poker Alice Tubbs and is a regular actress in Red Herring Productions murder mysteries. Her website offers a behind-the-scenes look at the world of Poker Alice: www.PokerAliceHistory.com.
This event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation
