Do you enjoy watching the Thunderbirds flyover for the Air Force Academy Graduation? Do you have trouble finding a place to watch them that has a great view and is safe? Look no more! The Western Museum of Mining (225 North Gate Blvd., Colorado Springs) is honored to be neighbors with the United States Air Force Academy and their grounds make for the perfect place to watch the amazing aerial acrobatics of the Air Force Thunderbirds. Bring and enjoy a picnic lunch by the spring-fed ponds and flowering meadows as you experience the mighty Thunderbirds soaring right over you! Admission is $5 per vehicle and the grounds are open from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.. No pets, please.
