The Old Colorado City Farmers’ Market has been a part of the Colorado Springs/Westside community for over 35 years! It is one of the most successful farmers markets in Colorado and is incredibly lucky to have some of the most loyal and amazing customers.
The market was started with the ideology that Colorado farmers and businesses should be closer to their customers, and to provide an environment where citizens can feel more in touch with where their food/goods come from. After all these years we continue to stick to those beliefs and pride ourselves on being one of Colorado’s only grower friendly markets. We believe it is important to keep a farmer’s market what its meant to be, a “Farmer’s Market”.
Many of the vendors that are at the market today have been there either from the start or for decades!
Unlike many markets today, the Old Colorado City Farmers’ Market has always been owned and managed by a vendor at the market. Frank Schmidt of Schmidt Apiaries has been at the market with his honey from the beginning. He started working with honey roughly 40 years ago and can still be seen down at the market every Saturday with his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Rick.
From our humble beginnings to what the market has become today we feel truly honored being a part of the community. We’ve enjoyed building a relationship with our customers and look forward to seeing future generations.
Thank you so much for all the support over the years and the countless years to come!
