Monument Hill Kiwanis Club (MHKC) raises funds to enable our mission of Making a Difference for Youth and Our Community by conducting a one-day craft fair which will be held on December 6th between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

This year’s fair will be held in Bear Creek Elementary School, 1330 Creekside Dr., Monument (the intersection of Creekside and Leather Chaps).  Vendors purchase space to present their wares for sale and local churches prepare baked goods for purchase by craft fair patrons.  Entry is free but patrons are requested to bring a non-perishable food item that will be donated to Tri-Lakes Cares (T-LC).

MHKC volunteers set up and break down the display area at Grace Best for the event and assist vendors when requested.  Volunteers also provide assistance during the event to vendors or patrons.  MHKC volunteers contribute about 100 hours annually to this project.

Last year’s North Pole Craft Fair drew nearly 2,000 visitors. They shopped 75 vendors (including Kiwanian Jim Taylor, shown here whose net profit from the sale of wooden toys are aggregated with booth space rentals). The net proceeds of their booth fees will be used to support programs to benefit youth in the Tri-Lakes area. This “Cookie Walk” will be hosted by Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church and will benefit T-LC.  Additionally, last year T-LC received cash donations of more than $1,000, 653 lbs. of food as well as toys and games. Additionally, “4 Kidz” received donations of new and lightly used sports equipment.  All of these donations will have a significant impact on the Christmas experience for the families served by T-LC.

See the MHKiwanis.org website for more information and join us for a meeting to see what we’re all about.  See ad on previous page.
