Summer is a season for reading, activities, and adventure, and Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is changing the way it celebrates reading this summer.
Brought to you by the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, this year’s Summer Adventure reading program’s celebrations are musical concerts held throughout the summer months, instead of two parties at the end of the program.
“We want families to be able to join in one of the concerts that fits into their schedule,” said Melody Alvarez, director of programming. “We decided to create opportunities during the summer so more families can join us.”
The musicians featured in the concerts are all local family favorites, Alvarez said.
