SUMMARY:2018 Empty Bowls Dinner
DESCRIPTION:We regret that we cannot serve a meal this year. However\, handmade bowls will be available. An online $20 ticket purchase will entitle the donor to one bowl which they can pick out at a drive-through at the Lewis-Palmer High School South Parking Lot\, on Saturday\, October 3rd between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. As always\, we will accept cash and/or food donations at the pickup point. Because our potters are also affected by COVID-19\, we expect to have fewer bowls available. We’re seeking those who would like to “recycle” bowls for another donor. As always\, Tri-Lakes Cares is conducting a Silent Auction—Online this year (details at Tri-LakesCares.org). \nFind details and online ticket sales at MHKiwanis.org. All proceeds go to Tri-Lakes Cares. Help us enable TLC to give back to those less fortunate in our community.

The festival is hosted by the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. \nEvery year\, thousands pay homage to Pueblo’s best-loved crop: green chilies\, particularly Pueblo Chile.  The event features live entertainment\, street vendors\, cooking competitions\, and chilies\, chilies\, chilies! Held downtown along Union Avenue\, the festival draws Pueblo residents as well as people from across the state and around the nation. \nThere are 2 farmers market locations where festival-goers can sample and purchase the season’s most-loved crop: the SRDA Parking Lot (230 N. Union Ave) and in front of the Vail Hotel (217 S. Grand Ave.). \nThe annual Chili and Frijoles festival is September 26-27 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Pueblo.  Dogs are allowed\, but must be on a leash.  The $5 gate admission will NOT be required this year. Patrons may opt to donate gate admission and receive a coupon for $2 off any beverage. \nVisit https://festival.pueblochamber.org/ for more information.

SUMMARY:Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off Moves to Citywide Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off will take place this Labor Day Weekend in a heavily modified form.  With this in mind\, event organizers Hot Apple Productions\, LLC and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation plan to bring hot air balloons to residents across Colorado Springs with an innovative twist. “The Colorado Springs community will be able to experience early morning balloon launches while balloons fill the city skyline\, launching from numerous locations around town\,” said Hot Apple Productions Managing Member\, Scott Appelman\, “Additionally\, we will have a pop-up Balloon Glow\, weather permitting. Locations to be determined for the upcoming Labor Day weekend”. \nThe Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off continues a 43-year tradition of a hot air balloon event in Colorado Springs. “I am happy to see this beloved event continue to make a positive impact during this difficult time\,” said Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off Founder\, Dewey Reinhard. \nLabor Day Lift Off’s usual donut-eating contest\, lake events\, and field activities will not take place and no vendors will be available. No events will occur at Memorial Park. \n“Our goal is to create a unique community event that allows residents to continue to enjoy the tradition of the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off\,” said Sports Corp President and CEO Tom Osborne. \nVisit ColoradoSpringsLaborDayLiftOff.com and join the event’s Facebook page for updates and the latest event information. \nBoth partners are thrilled to be able to do this under the environment we are all experiencing. The Labor Day Lift off will be one of very few balloon events that will take place in the world this year. It will look different not being held at Memorial Park\, but available for the community to watch with balloons launching from different locations in Colorado Springs. \nFor more information www.ColoradoSpringsLaborDayLiftOff.com \nhttps://www.facebook.com/labordayliftoff/photos/a.327113637478241/1413302548859339/ \n
