SUMMARY:All Pikes Peak Reads: Author Mary Roach
DESCRIPTION:Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) has announced their 2025 selections for All Pikes Peak Reads\, its annual community reading program. This year\, the Library District has returned to choosing one book for each age group as it has done in the past. The four selections include: \nFuzz by Mary Roach (adult) \nCold the Night\, Fast the Wolves by Meg Long (teen) \nLittle Monarchs by Jonathan Case (juvenile) \nButterflies Are Pretty…Gross! By Rosemary Mosco (juvenile) \n  \nAll Pikes Peak Reads provides residents with a unique opportunity to feel connected with their community by reading the same book together. The annual program focuses on celebrating literature\, improving community connections\, and fostering dialogue across social\, cultural\, and generational lines. Each year\, PPLD selects titles that focus on timely topics and plans a variety of community-wide programs and activities to pair with the book. This year’s titles all relate to nature\, whether it is exploring the surprising world of butterflies\, surviving in the winter wilderness\, learning about monarch butterfly migration\, or reading about human-wildlife interactions. \nYou may also join Pikes Peak Library District as they welcome this year’s authors to discuss their books during in-person or virtual author visits. Visits will be followed by an audience Q&A. At in-person visits\, the author will be available for book signing following the Q&A\, and books will be available for purchase during the event from Poor Richard’s Books & Gifts. \nRegistration is suggested for the in-person events but not required. When you register for one of the virtual events\, you will receive an email with the link to access the event.  Visit https://ppld.org/appr to register for these discussions: \n  \nAll Pikes Peak Reads Presents: Author Rosemary Mosco: Wed.\, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.\, Online \nAll Pikes Peak Reads Presents: Author Mary Roach: Sat.\, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m.\, Online \nAll Pikes Peak Reads Presents: Author Meg Long: Sat.\, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.\, East Library \nAll Pikes Peak Reads Presents: Author and cartoonist Jonathan Case: Sat.\, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.\, Library 21c

SUMMARY:Shop Small Business Saturday
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate at locally-owned businesses in historic downtown with special holiday events and offers on Saturday\, November 30\, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. When you shop locally\, rather than online or in other cities\, more revenue stays here\, and that directly benefits this community. Founded by American Express in 2010\, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. \nChristmas Stroll in Old Colorado City \nKick off the holiday season with a special evening in Old Colorado City\, Colorado Avenue & 25th Street in Colorado Springs on Saturday\, November 30\, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
